10 Most Dog-Friendly Vacation Destinations In The US

You have to admit, there is no love like the love of a dog and how our heart breaks when we go for a vacation leaving them behind. That sad face, those puppy eyes are a sight we never want to see but sadly we’ve had to, most of the times. Though not anymore, because LatinOFare has got you 10 most dog-friendly vacation destinations in the US.

San Diego, California

Ever noticed the excitement on your beloved baby’s face when he sees a beach? If you haven’t taken your dog to a dog friendly beach in San Diego (SoCal off-leash beaches and parks) to see the beautiful beaches, sandy coastlines, and just the perfect weather to goof around, visit soon. This city is so welcoming towards dogs that they have more than 500 dog-friendly restaurants. It also hosts many dog centered events such as Surf Dog Series in Imperial Beach, and Dog Games at Petco Park.

Austin, Texas

Austin is a beautiful city and has a multitude of dog-friendly places including approximately 500 restaurants. We suggest you take your pup to Yard Bar that has edged the game further by having an official menu for dogs, not just that they also have a dog park where you can leave your best friend to play freely. Choose to spend a summer afternoon by the beach at Red Bud Isle and play frisbee or take you doggy for swimming in the Barton Springs Pool.

Key Largo, Florida

Here you can do almost everything with your dog in tow. You can take your pup to dog-friendly beaches, go paddle boarding, walk down the streets, go for a swim, or good around at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. In the evening, dine with your dog at Pilot House Restaurant.

Alexandria, Virginia

Alexandria has some of the best dog parks across the US including King Street – this beach is swarming with pups from the cutest ones to those tall, large, handsome ones; there are water bowls and treats for your pup all around. There is more, you can also go cruising around the sea with your dog on the Potomac Riverboat Company.

Bar Harbor, Maine

If you have an active dog, take your furry for a hike in Bar Harbor. One of the best hiking experiences is that of Acadia National Park which is approximately 120 miles long. Amazing right? Well, we thought so too. Dogs are also allowed to board the city buses, travel around and eat at many dog-friendly eateries across the town.

Provincetown, Massachusetts

One of the best hiking experiences you will ever have is the one you take to Race Point Lighthouse with your pup along. There is also Pilgrim Bark Park where you can explore the finest animal inspired art. If you’re up for it, let your furry feel the gush of winds when he sails around the Cape Cod Bay on Dog Gone Sailing Charters. Opt to eat at any of the restaurants at Commercial Street.

Little Rock, Arkansas

Little Rock is everything you could possibly want in a destination; it is amazingly dog-friendly. Enjoy drinks at the Bark Bar while furry plays outside in the dog area. Take your fur one for an evening stroll at Paws Park at Murray Lake and allow him to play around in water. If you feel up for it, take a hike along the Rock Valley Trail or Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Stop over at any of the dog-friendly eateries on Main Street for a bite together.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

In Albuquerque, you’ll find a dog within every half mile. Dogs are loved by this town and are welcomed in many outdoor patios, restaurants, and brewpubs; where the staff is even trained on etiquettes for pets. Hike along the Petroglyph National Monument trail, or enjoy a laid-back day playing a game by the beach or in the Canine Skyline Dog Park.

Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

Bustling with dog parks and beaches, this place is one of the most loved places for the fur balls because they can play off-leash. You could take your doggy to the Mission Trails Park and go hiking.  Furthermore, you can even shop with your dog as some stores on Caramel Business District that allows pets inside.

Door County, Wisconsin

There is so much to do here with your dog, that you will have a tough time prioritizing. Go to Whitefish Dunes beach, Shiloh Road Bark Park, Eagle Trail, Sunset cruise, or a kayak tour. Do not forget to go to the annual Door County Scottie Rally, if you can get air plane tickets for that time around.

Travel with your fur ball because he is your best friend and the best travel companion. Get him along!
