So, what the weather like?

When you think of Brazil, the first thing that comes to your mind is the sun, sand and the beach. Just the ideal place for your swimsuit. That’s because thankfully Brazil lies in the tropics so therefore you can expect warm weather throughout the year. There are of course sporadic spells of rain showers. However, it is very important to know when and which part are you heading in this massive country? Here’s a quick look.

When and where to head in South Brazil

March to November is the dry season in Southern Brazil, whereas December to February sees heavy rainfall sometimes. Evenings are a lot cooler during the winters, which last from June to September. The weather is very unpredictable during this season as the weather can change very quickly. A chilly morning in Rio can suddenly turn into a cloudy afternoon with rainfall and by evening you could have a clear sky. So, make sure to carry your clothes and luggage accordingly. The further you move below, the mercury keeps dropping.

Amazon & Pantanal – when to go

The Pantanal and the Amazon region can be frequented all year round. Though, the best time to visit the Amazon is during July and August. Get ready for plenty of hot, humid and rainy conditions. Carry your rain gear wherever you go. Plus, there are plenty of insects in the area so make sure to carry a repellent when passing by the Amazon region.

On the other hand, The Pantanal region has a constant temperature all year. December to March is the wet season while April to October is the dry season. This is also the best time to check the vibrant flora and fauna of this place. The climate is warm with the temperature rarely dropping below 20°C.

Here’s what happens in the North & East Coast

The North-eastern region of Brazil has typically two seasons, which do not differ much. The only difference is that while August to February is a drier period, March to July sees a few rain showers. All in all, the weather does not change much with temperatures remaining between 25 ° to 30 ° C The humidity is higher in this region and so is the sunshine. There’s a lovely sea breeze for most parts of the year.

Visiting Brazil in January – March

This is the best time of the year to travel to Brazil as the weather is warm and breezy. Besides, there are plenty of events and festivals, which come up during this season. The famous Brazilian carnival falls between February or March depending on the beginning of the Lent period. Semana Santa or Easter is another festival that you shouldn’t miss around this time of the year as the streets are covered in beds of exotic flowers and organic materials.
