Steps to prevent Corona from spreading while you travel

Few months back when the news of the first case of COVID-19 broke out in Wuhan, China, little did we know that it will turn into a global pandemic. And by the time World Health Organization (WHO) realized its severity, it had already spread like wildfire. The bottom line is – we can’t stop the virus from spreading, but we can prevent its spread by taking good care of ourselves.

The COVID-19 virus presumably spreads through person-to-person contact, through droplets of cough or sneeze. This respiratory disease can spread to the mouth, nose, or hands to anyone who comes in close contact with the host. What’s worse? The symptoms do not show up for days, which makes this infection spread so rampantly.  One can’t ignore the damage Corona virus has caused to our healthcare and economic infrastructure. But you can change all of this if you take care of these tips:

Wash your hands

Now how complicated is that? Yet, people completely ignore and go about their lives. We all have learned these basic hygiene factors in school, right? Yet we overlook its importance today. All you have to do is wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. If you have no access to H2O, then a good alcohol-based hand sanitizer will do.

Touch-me-not

Practice distancing yourself from social gatherings. Avoid handshakes or hugs for a time being, especially with a sick person.

Stay indoors

If you are experiencing cough, cold, fever, chances are that they might be normal flu symptoms. But it is always better to remain indoors and, if possible, quarantine yourself. And don’t forget to consult your doctor or any health specialist immediately.

Cover your mouth

If you have to cough or sneeze, then do it inside the elbow. Bend your elbow and cover your mouth as this is area is least exposed to others.

The Mask

Since the news of COVID-19 outbreak has come out, people are purchasing masks left, right and center, which has created a pandemonium. Sadly, very few masks are left for the people who actually need them.

Disinfect frequently touched surfaces

Along with personal hygiene, maintain hygiene at home and around your surroundings. Disinfect the entire house at least once a day by using readily available disinfectants. The objects like doorknobs, countertops, toilet seat, gadgets, and switchboards are some areas which are frequently touched by various people.

These might seem little steps, but they go a long way in saving your life and those around you.
