Trip cancellation insurance

Trip cancellation is the number one topic to discuss. Many people across the world are already flying or other is trying to book air tickets. Some airlines do not provide a refund on the cancelation of your air ticket. However, this might be a big issue but you can save your money if you are having a trip cancellation. There are many reasons to cancel your trip before departure but as we discussed most of the companies don’t provide a refund on cancelation.

While a trip cancellation insurance plan is an important part of travel insurance that you must consider before buying an insurance cover, most companies will not provide cover to your canceled trip for any possible reason. If, however, your case falls under one of the following categories, there is a good chance you could be covered.

Common Trip Cancellation Reasons:

  • Illness, injury

Your policy provides cover if you have to cancel your trip due to any illness, injury. Various type of illness is covered under your trip cancelation policy.

 

  • Death of an Immediate Family Member

If you have to cancel your trip because of the death of your family member then also your trip insurance plan provides cover.

 

  • Hurricane damages your destination and you have to cancel your flight

If your destination has been damaged because of any natural disaster then trip insurance policy provides the cover to your canceled trip.

 

  • Terrorist incident in your destination city

You have already made a plan to go but your destination is not safe anymore because of a terrorist attack and you have to cancel your plan then your insurance company provide reimbursed for your trip.

 

  • Bankruptcy of your travel supplier

If your trip planner has declared bankruptcy and you are not sure how and who is going to manage your trip then your trip insurance plan will come to help you.

 

  • Called for jury duty

You can cancel your trip if you have to cancel your trip because you may get called for jury duty.

 

  • Weather

What if hurricane hits your destination so don’t assume that your hotel is going to pay you back your pre-paid money. Because of extreme weather, you can cancel your trip and if you bought your ticket and it is not refundable then your insurance plan will provide you reimbursed.

There are some more reasons which can cause the reason to cancel your trip, but most of the hotels, airlines, cruises don’t pay your pre-paid money back because of their no refund policy. You can’t assume that your hotel, airline maybe payback if I cancel my trip. You have to be practical before going on any trip because some countries’ currency is very expensive like the US dollar, pound.
